Hmong Reverse Embroidery Classes
Learn how to reverse embroider with your Hmong teacher, Bai Ly, who learned to sew when she was just four years old. Bai Ly will guide participants to create their own hand-embroidered creation using the traditional Hmong reverse technique.
Patterns in Hmong embroidery generally relate to nature and family, and in this workshop you will also learn more about Hmong handicraft and cultural traditions.
Classes are on demand and based on the availability of our teacher.
Duration: 2 hours, mornings 9.30am-11.30am
or afternoons 1.30pm-3.30pm

Spinning and Weaving Classes
Enjoy a day going at your own pace, spinning and weaving cotton, with Lao designer Tadam and her team. Set in a beautiful garden, inside Tadam's gallery, you will be inspired by her creativity and colours, and be able to make something within your skill level to take home. Extended classes available.
Duration: 1 day 10.00am - 5pm
Cost: $72 per person, based on minimum 1 persons, maximum 2 persons

Natural Dyes Workshop in the Village
(3 hours drive from Luang Prabang, village stay 1 night)
This is a very authentic experience, working amongst the dye pots, in the village. Not only will you learn about natural dyes, but you will experience village life first hand amongst our hospitable weavers and their families.
8am depart from your Luang Prabang accommodation, in private mini-van with driver, to Nambak District and two TaiLeu cotton weaving villages. Your English-speaking guide will meet you at the first village and give you a tour of the village explaining local traditions, agricultural activities, and Buddhist culture. Then you will enjoy a meal in the home of one of the families and many of the weavers will come and show you their wares.
After lunch you learn about natural dyes and dye your own scarf and threads. There are cold indigo dyes and hot dyes. After dyeing, you can enjoy a walk, or bathe in the local stream. Overnight is in the home of a weaver.
The following day you can explore the area and return to Luang Prabang at your leisure.
